Auburn tight end Cole Bennett will be a senior in 2006. The Dalton, Ga., native caught nine passes for 107 yards and two touchdowns last season. In three seasons with the Tigers, Bennett has caught 16 passes for 179 yards and three touchdowns.

Bennett recently sat down with www.auburntigers.com and discussed his first touchdown and which one of his teammates is most likely to turn to a political career.

AuburnTigers.com: What has been your most memorable touchdown at Auburn?
Cole Bennett: "My first one against Tennessee my freshman year (an 8-yard pass from Jason Campbell). It was one of our two-tight end bootleg plays, about a 10-yard cross."

AU: What is the hardest part about playing football?
CB: "Time management, doing stuff five, six, seven days a week for 11 Saturdays and working out all the time. A lot of times you don't see the benefits except for three hours at a time 11 days out of the year."

AU: Which one of your teammates is most likely to run for political office?
CB: "I'd have to say Joe Cope. He always has something to say. He can get along with anybody, make anybody laugh and make everybody feel good."

AU: Why did you come to Auburn?
CB: "I'd say that given my other opportunities, Auburn was the best fit as far as an environment, academically."

AU: How will this group of seniors be remembered at Auburn?
CB: "As just a bunch of guys that sit down and work and not say too much about it. Everyone has their place and everyone does their job. I believe we're just a bunch of hard-working guys."

AU: Why do you wear number 87?
CB: "When I showed up here, it was the number they gave me. I didn't have much of a choice, so I just took it."

AU: What opponent do you enjoy playing the most?
CB: "Georgia is my favorite game of the year. I've played with a few of the guys on the Bulldogs, and almost everyone from my high school goes there. It's kind of like a home game as far as the people who watched me play."

AU: Did you play any other sports in high school?
CB: "I played basketball and ran track up until my junior year when I just played football. Playing basketball, I did a lot of rebounding. I didn't score too many points, but I didn't really care."

AU: What famous person would you like to meet?
CB: "Arnold Schwarzenegger. I have followed his career and loved all his movies. He got me interested in nutrition and the weightlifting side of football and I realized there was a lot more to it that what you do on Saturdays."

AU: Where would you like to go on a dream vacation?
CB: "I'd like to go to some tropical place where the water is real clear and there is nothing to do but lay on the beach."

AU: What game are you most looking forward to this year?
CB: "The first one (against Washington State). It will hopefully be the first time getting the start by myself. I feel like I have a lot to prove and that first game is my first chance."
